My Experience with Greenpalm Publishing: A Call for Justice

I want to share an experience that has been weighing heavily on me—a story of unfair treatment, humiliation, and the violation of my rights. It’s not just a personal story; it’s a reflection of how we, as a community, need to stand up for those who have no voice, especially when the ones with power and resources fail to uphold justice.

Recently, I engaged with Greenpalm Publishing on a professional basis, but the experience left me with a deep sense of injustice. I believe it is important to share what happened—not only for my own clarity but also to raise awareness about the ethical responsibilities organizations owe to the individuals they work with.

A Breakdown of Events

Initial Project Work

The company initially reached out to me through a friend, who had been assured, “Don’t worry about the money; we do not have problems there.” This assurance, paired with my professional aspirations, led me to pursue this opportunity in good faith.

After an interview where I suggested creating a blog to engage readers, the company requested my assistance in setting one up. I spent approximately seven hours designing a blog, only for them to later claim they didn’t need one and apologized for the "miscommunication." While they initially agreed to compensate me for my time, they later backtracked on this commitment, blaming me for the misunderstanding.

Discussions on Articles and Reviews

I was asked to write book reviews and articles under specific terms that I found very low for the effort required, but I decided to proceed with their requests. I completed three pieces, even dividing one article into two themes to meet their word count requirements. When I later sought flexibility in terms—such as receiving multiple books upfront or writing longer, more meaningful reviews—I was met with resistance. They dismissed my professional input with, “No one will read more than 700 words,” and refused to reconsider.

Lack of Communication and Accountability

The most frustrating part of this process was their refusal to engage in direct dialogue. Despite my efforts to call them and resolve the situation, they consistently avoided phone conversations and sent voice notes instead, which made it impossible for me to address issues effectively. When I explained that answering my calls was necessary to reach an agreement, they responded dismissively: “We cannot understand each other.”

Final Betrayal

After requesting the articles I had completed, they promised payment. However, weeks passed with no deposit. When I followed up, they claimed, “We did not use your files and will not pay you. Put them on your website.” They further accused me of "breaking the contract" by completing the articles, despite the fact that they had explicitly requested the work and had not communicated any objections earlier.

Even if they claimed there was an issue with the contract, why did they not honor the payment terms they had previously agreed upon? At every step of the way, I tried to resolve matters professionally, but they created unresolvable obstacles and ultimately blamed me, claiming, “We cannot work with you.”

Ethical Reflections

This experience was deeply disappointing, not only because of the financial loss but because of the sheer disregard for fairness and integrity. Trust is a sacred principle, and breaking it is a serious matter in both professional and spiritual contexts.

Imam Ali (AS) has said:
“Injustice is the worst form of oppression, and nothing destroys blessings like it.”
(Nahjul Balagha, Saying 239)

The actions of Greenpalm Publishing exemplify the harm caused by broken promises and unethical practices. They requested my work, used my time, and then refused to compensate me. This not only reflects poor management but also a lack of consideration for the value of another person’s efforts.

Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS) also reminds us:
“The believer does not betray, does not lie, and does not break a promise.”
(Al-Kafi, Vol. 2, Hadith 208)

A Call for Justice

This wasn’t just about money; this was about respect, dignity, and the promise of an agreement. They belittled my work, my time, and the value I brought to the table. They reduced me to a number, and when I spoke out about the injustice, they ignored me. At every step, I tried to resolve the issue, but they placed one obstacle after another, making it clear that they couldn’t—or wouldn’t—work with me.

This post is not meant to spread ill will but to serve as a warning for others who may find themselves in a similar situation. If you are approached by Greenpalm Publishing, I urge you to demand clear, written agreements before investing your time and effort.

I also urge organizations to reflect on the ethical weight of their actions. Breaking promises and exploiting individuals' time and effort damages trust and, ultimately, the reputation of the organization itself.

As for me, I remain open to resolving this matter if Greenpalm Publishing decides to act in good faith. Until then, I hope this account will encourage others to be vigilant in protecting their rights and remind institutions of their duty to act with fairness and justice.

This is more than just a personal issue—it’s a call for justice. A call to be heard, a call to stand for what’s right.

If you feel moved to support me in this fight, I urge you to contact the company through their website. Let them know that the community stands together and demands justice. Let them know that when someone’s rights are violated, we all have a responsibility to speak out.

Please, take a moment to make your voice heard.
